EM Normandie Student Gala awarded “Ecofest” label
The EM Normandie Student Gala, organized on May 13 by the Student Federation and the BDEs of the 3 French campuses, lived up to its promise as an eco-responsible event, and was awarded the “Ecofest” label with flying colors, making it the school’s first certified student event.
After months of meticulous preparation, the Student Gala was a huge success. More than 1,000 students, staff and partners celebrated in the majestic Pavillon Cambon Capucines, in Paris’s 1st arrondissement. Aware that every apparent or hidden component of the event (venue, number of participants, catering, furniture, logistics and transport, etc.) contributes to its environmental impact, the students signed up from the outset to a labeling process aimed at obtaining the Ecofest Label. They saw this approach as an opportunity to encourage and raise public awareness of the need to adopt more responsible behavior in line with the ecological transition.
Created 16 years ago in Grenoble, the Ecofest label now has 61 members throughout France. The ImpAct association at Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) is developing Ecofest, a tool and label for auditing the sustainable nature of all types of event. The aim of the label is to help event organizers gain an overview of the impact of their project on the environment, to improve and promote their efforts and actions in this area. The label is valid for two years, and audits are free of charge and carried out by students. It is open to all organizations, student or otherwise (festivals, races, fairs, exhibitions, etc.), wishing to certify their eco-responsible commitment.
